Book review:

Wow! Just wow! This book is just amazing. It is the first book I've read by Colleen Hoover and it was so amazing that I don't even know where to begin. Hoover's writing and characters draw you in and hold you there.

The book follows Lily a young woman who had grown up with an abusive father. Although her father was never abusive to her, just her mother. She felt as if she had no one until fate led her to Atlas a teenage boy that was homeless and living in an abandoned house across from hers. She started sneaking him food and later she would sneak him into her house for a shower and what not after school while her parents were at work. They both found comfort in one another while falling in love. Finally, Atlas found a home in Boston with his uncle. He promised to come back for Lily though.

Fast forward years later and there is no sign of Atlas. Lily's father has just passed away and she's dealing with her confusion over her death when she meets Ryle, a handsome neurosurgeon. On the first night of meeting one another Ryle and her start to play a game of "naked truths" Ryle makes it clear that he is not a relationship guy. He does one night stands only but he's obviously attracted to Lily. A few months late Lily decides to open her own floral shop and it just so happens that her new employee is the sister of Ryle. They quickly find themselves being pushed together all the time until Ryle finally admits that he wants to try with Lily. As time goes along Ryle shows signs of abuse here and there but Lily finds herself trying to defend him at first. Atlas suddenly reappears in her life as things get more complicated with Ryle. Eventually Lily has to make a decision about who she wants to be with.

I don't want to give too many spoilers but I will say that the way Hoover writes the characters is so amazing. I felt every minute of Lily's pain, confusion, anger, love, hatred and hurt. I felt for Atlas and how sad his life had been and I even felt for Ryle. I wanted so badly for him to be able to change for Lily but sometimes things just can't be. The end both broke my heart and mended it. I found myself crying with Lily on more than one occasion.

Absolutely an amazing book that everyone should read.

Until next time... ❤❤

Book Review: Marrow by Tarryn Fisher

This book is definitely unique. I'm still not sure what happened. Margo Moon is a the prostitute's daughter. Her mother can be harsh and uncaring, similar to the place she calls home. Margo moves from the shy girl not wanting to be seen to a strong girl that is wanting to dish out poetic justice. As she moves through the book she starts to act on her instincts of justice. Some of the scenes will make you want to cringe as well as cheer her on. The people that receive her poetic justice are more than deserving of it but the idea of taking a life is also a hard thing to embrace. I don't blame her yet I do. It's very confusing and it makes you think about what you would do if you were in Margo's situation.  Move forward in the book some more and you find that she is suffering from a mental disorder. She has made up certain people in her life, or has she? I don't completely trust her doctor either and if you've read Mud Vein then you know why. I never could re...

Meet the characters of Pedal to the Metal: Jagger & Londynn

As I finish up the edits on Pedal to the Metal: Jagger & Londynn I thought you might enjoy seeing the pictures that inspired the characters. Enjoy! Pedal to the Metal: Jagger & Londynn follows the story of Jagger James and Londynn Parrish. Jagger is one of five brothers that have a need for speed. They are all named after 80s music stars, they all race as if their lives depend on it and their all a little bad ass. They grew up on the poorer side of town but it only made them fight harder at the races every weekend.  Jagger met a girl named Harlyn Bexton as a teenager and quickly fell in love. After high school they started a life together only to have tragedy strike. Staying in L.A. is out of the question for Jagger afterwards so he runs to Vegas only to return five years later. Londynn Parrish is your typical trust fund baby. Born and raised in one of the richest parts of L.A., attended a private academy and was given anything money could buy. However, what she wants...
