Book Review: The First Lights by Christy Pastore

I finished The First Lights by Christy Pastore yesterday and I'm in love! Don't forget to grab your copy this coming Wednesday!

This book! I loved this book. Pastore did a fantastic job of creating a story you can't put down.

Hannah is not your typical leading female mom character. Hannah is smart mouthed, feisty, tattoo covered, free spirit. She's a mom who has suffered a great loss leaving her a single mom to her teenage son Luke. The relocate where she meet Wyatt.

Wyatt--is a former NFL star that left the spotlight after losing everything. He's now a high school history teacher and football coach. Luke's football coach to be exact and from the moment that Hannah marches onto his field, giving him a piece of her mind and storming off leaving Wyatt wanting more.

The chemistry between these two are undeniable but in a small town and a contract with shades of grey where parent/teacher relationships are concerned will they be able to make a relationship work?

I highly recommend this book. It was a fantastic read and you won't be disappointed.

Book Review: Marrow by Tarryn Fisher

This book is definitely unique. I'm still not sure what happened. Margo Moon is a the prostitute's daughter. Her mother can be harsh and uncaring, similar to the place she calls home. Margo moves from the shy girl not wanting to be seen to a strong girl that is wanting to dish out poetic justice. As she moves through the book she starts to act on her instincts of justice. Some of the scenes will make you want to cringe as well as cheer her on. The people that receive her poetic justice are more than deserving of it but the idea of taking a life is also a hard thing to embrace. I don't blame her yet I do. It's very confusing and it makes you think about what you would do if you were in Margo's situation.  Move forward in the book some more and you find that she is suffering from a mental disorder. She has made up certain people in her life, or has she? I don't completely trust her doctor either and if you've read Mud Vein then you know why. I never could re...
