I can't believe Pedal to the Metal is already a year old! This wasn't the first book I wrote but it was the first one that started to build in mind. I remember after watching the very first Fast and Furious movie how I became obsessed with racers and that lifestyle. Of course at the time I was only in Jr. High but this story started to build. Over the years and as I've matured so has the story line and characters.
When I first sat down to write my first book I had every intention of writing Pedal to the Metal but instead Magicals came out and while it will always be my baby I've felt a deeper connection to the characters and world of the James Brothers series. Jagger and Londynn's story demanded to be written so much so that I had to change my scheduled writing timeline. I had set out to write all three books in the Magicals trilogy first but Pedal to the Metal just wouldn't let that happen.
I had just finished writing Capture and was plotting Ignite when I stopped and wrote Pedal to the Metal instead. In my mind it made sense it was only going to be one book and I already knew most of this story so it wouldn't take very long. However, while I was writing about Jagger I felt compelled to tell the rest of the James brothers stories.
Looking back now though I'm very glad I didn't write Pedal to the Metal first. I think over time my writing has become more detailed and well thought out. Yes, there are editing issues in all of my books but that's what happens when you do everything yourself. I feel though that if I had wrote this book first I wouldn't have done it the justice it deserved. Not to say that I didn't give Magicals my best but I feel like I've grown and with that so has my writing.
I hope you enjoy this book and characters as much as I did creating them.
